KOVALAM TO VARKALA
Good Morning, Kovalam ! We start for Varkala beach, the cliff beach, declared one of the top ten (10) seasonal beaches of the world by Discovery Channel. The beauty of landscapes, brown sand and sea fascinate us. And the spa, Ayurvedic treatment centers, and mineral springs do rejuvenate human bodies. Bathing at the beach is deemed holy for it washes away our sins, therefore, called the Papanasam beach. Overnight stay at hotel.
VARAKALA TO ALAPPUZHA (ALLEPPEY)

After breakfast, we leave for Alleppey (Alappuzha), the city of backwaters, seawater inlets in the continent that form lagoons and channels of breathtaking beauty. En route we stop at Kollam, one of Kerala's most reputed historic ports and which is now a quiet city where we can know the happening of the most syncretic Christianity with their virgins clad in sari / saree. We may approach the bazaar Mukkada to observe the bustle of a traditional market where spices are the star product. We continue our way to Alleppey where we stay overnight.

ALAPPUZHA (ALLEPPEY) TO KUMARAKOM

We dedicate the day to a houseboat cruise ride on the backwaters that takes us from the city of Alleppey to the Kumarakom locality by narrow canals dotted by coconut trees and small villages. We have the opportunity to see first-hand the life on the banks of these canals, crops and traditional fishing, in addition to enjoying the relaxed life on board. The ship has all the amenities and the crew serve us exquisite Keralí food and show us the main attractions en route.

Overnight stay on board.

KUMARAKOM TO PERIYAR

We say, “Good Morning, Mother Nature at Kumarakom” and disembark to see the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which has been home to many species including cuckoos and Siberian storks. Surroundings and ecology that were described in the best seller “The God of Small Things” by Arundhati Roy are in here to see in person.

After lunch we leave for Periyar, crossing areas of beautiful agricultural landscapes on the slopes of the Western Ghats, the mountain range that isolates Kerala from the rest of the country.

Overnight stay at hotel.

PERIYAR TO MUNNAR

Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary has been home to elephants, wild cats, tigers and many species of animals and birds. The Park is a fascinating protection to the Ecosystem and Flora & Fauna all around. The morning cruise on the lake Periyar will allow us to spot the huge pachyderms bathing with their calves.

After lunch we start for Munnar for a mountain tour with landscapes overwhelming with confined beautiful traditional living around.

Overnight stay at hotel.

MUNNAR TO KOCHI

Munnar is a heaven for tea-lovers. The teas of India are worldwide famous for their variety, taste and aroma too. And obviously we are free to pick the best that suits our taste or wish and buy at quite reasonable prices in here. We may visit a cooperative unit of workers and tea plantation owners too.
We may visit the Eravikulam National Park and see the mountain goats in their natural habitat. Munnar gives us a little chance to walk through the forests too.

After lunch / late afternoon, we may leave for Kochi (Cochin), once a European colony and, now with a touch of modern living accompanied by the historical trails.

Overnight stay at hotel.

KOCHI

Kochi, had been the port for the merchants of Arab, China and Europe in14th century.
And the life today in here still displays the blend of these cultures and life-styles.

The city of Fort Kochi is situated at an island opposite the port of Ernakulam. Its streets have preserved the colonial life-style / environment, something that has attracted numerous artists and intellectuals. The old houses have been occupied by intellectuals and artists; and a small Jewish community still lives here. Therefore, Kochi breathes a unique and bohemian atmosphere-cum-social environment with charming cafes and restaurants. At the same time, it is a city full of attractions such as its famous Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets that are a beautiful setting for the sunset. Cochin spice market, the Sun spice market most famous spice market in Kerala and its signs of the Jewish culture remains important to visit and make some purchases.

Overnight stay at hotel.

KOCHI

Transit to the Cochin International Airport is already arranged.

Well. You know for sure, you have lived an experience of a state of South India, Kerala, to the full.

Time to bid you a sweet goodbye. And we do.

Thanks.
