HIMALAYAN HILLSIDES NEPAL

Description

Welcome to the Royal Nepal – royal in traditions & mystic history and royal in the very lap of Mother Nature too. You enter the historical Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and sleep well for a few hours. And we are at the Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and feel the mysticism in the temples around. The Kumari House (House of the Living Goddess) is mysterious and remains a unique experience to feel and observe things in here. The Pashupatinath Temple, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at Kathmandu remains unique for Lord Shiva in the form of Pashupatinath has been the national deity of Nepal. Further you get the unique experience of seeing to the Himalayas especially the Mount Everest, the highest peak of the Range from up in the air through a 45-minute airplane-flight. We spend the late evening at the Lazimpat posh area of embassies and restaurants. We further our visit to Pokhara valley and offer prayers at the Temple of Goddess Durga in the Lake Phewa. Hiking and Yoga / Meditation are accessible in here. Next we are at Chitwan National Park and see Royal Bengal tigers, elephants, crocodiles and one-horned rhinoceros and of course, the flora & fauna around. Finally we are back in Kathmandu and tasting a few traditional meal / dishes. This somewhat confined package within Nepal gives the feelings of Mother Nature blended with mysticism for good.

ARRIVAL AT KATHMANDU

BEFORE WE START WE WISH TO EMPHASIZE THAT THE DETAILS OF SITES OR PLACES IN OUR TOURS DO NOT REMAIN RESTRICTED OR CONCLUSIVE. ON THE CONTRARY WE MEET MUCH MORE IN OUR WAY TO OUR DESTINATIONS.

We welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to the selected hotel for an overnight stay.

KATHMANDU

Full day to discover Kathmandu's heritage.
From the Durbar Square (one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley – all of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites), an incredible combination of real and spiritual monuments, we are going to walk through the old city. We enjoy the hidden courtyards full of small temples and shrines indicating the mysticism.
The Kumari House at the Durbar Square is a historical temple and one of the most sacred places in Nepal. This is a Home of the Living Goddess. The Kumari is believed to be incarnation of Goddess Durga. We may see her in the window but taking photographs is strictly prohibited.
In the afternoon, we visit the ancient and mysterious Pashupatinath Temple obviously a UNESCO Wolrd Heritage Site. The temple had been made and constructed in the 3rd century BC and thereafter it has been renovated quite a few times. It has been devoted to Lord Shiva in the form of Pashupatinath, i.e., Pashu (Living beings – human beings, animals and even plants & trees) + Patinath (Absolute Master); speaking to a T, Lord Shiva as Master of Life.
The temple, the seat of the national deity of Nepal, Lord Pashupatinath, stretches on both sides of the Baghmati River, deemed a holy river by the Hindus. Interestingly there are only two Pashupatinath statues / sacrosanct Lord Shiva, one in Kathmandu and one in Madhya Pradesh (India).

KATMANDU TO POKHARA

It's time to visit the beautiful mountains. We will cross several mountain passes to reach the city of Pokhara at the foot of the Annapurna range. The views from almost any corner of the city are incredible and announce the approach to Mother Nature that we are going to adopt.

POKHARA

The valley of Pokhara has several waterfalls, caves and gorges. But one of the most memorable things remains boating in Lake Phewa. Usually, the Himalayas reflect on its waters and it is also a great place for fishing and swimming when the water is not frigid. In the center of the lake, a temple dedicated to the Goddess Durga known as Tal Barahi Temple gives access towards mysticism.

POKHARA

If you feel like hiking, about 2-3 hours of walking will take you to Sarankot / Sarangkot. We can reach here driving on the highway too. It is a perfect place to watch the sunrise behind the Annapurna and there is a Sadhna Yoga / Meditation Center too. The experience of being on top of the world remains intact for good.
