North India including Haridwar and Dharamshala

We welcome with this wide and varied package of getting to start with National Capital Delhi. Sightseeing Delhi is obviously a blend of history, tradition, heritage and of course, modern living. Next we reach the Golden Temple, at the Amritsar (Punjab) to see the live Sikh way of life in person and grasp their history and traditions too. Further we proceed towards Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) to meet Tibetan Buddhism like nowhere else but Tibet itself. Buddhism of Dalai Lama has been nurtured & nourished at Dharamshala so matured a way that Human mind seems to be easily deciphered. We come back to Chandigarh, the modern history (!) in the specific views of the youth. Now the Ganges is inviting us to Rishikesh and Haridwar. We learn a few good things about Yoga & Meditation at Rishikesh that remain with us for a life-time. We definitely attend the Aarti in the evening at Har Ki Pauri (fire-worship of Lord Shiva, Mother Ganges / Ganga and the powers of the Universe) at Haridwar. From Rishikesh we get the train for Agra (obviously for the Taj Mahal, the UNESCO World Heritage Site). We get acquainted with the handicrafts of Agra in the bazaar of Agra too. Hmmmm. Finally we come back in the lap of Delhi. And we still get to know a few more things about Delhi. Well. Bingo ! Now you are confident that you have lived an experience that remains with you for good.

We welcome you at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and escort you to the selected hotel for an overnight stay.

Good Morning, Delhi !
In the morning we visit India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s official home) and Gandhi Museum in the first go. In the afternoon we enter the alleys of Old Delhi to observe the timeless social environment reminiscent of the seventeenth century city. We may visit historical Jama Masjid and Red Fort (Lal Quila).

Delhi to Amritsar (By Train)
In the evening, we reach the railway station and get the train for Amritsar (Punjab).
Overnight stay in hotel.

Amritsar is the home to the historical Golden Temple (one of the five highest seats of the Sikhs), Durgiana Temple (similar architecture to that of the Golden Temple), and Ram Bagh Gardens (Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s residence for summer), Jallianwala Bagh (a historical spot of one of the most infamous massacres in the India’s War of Freedom) and the Wagha Border between India & Pakistan – famous for its daily ceremony. And obviously, all these sites will be visited during the course of the day.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Good Morning, Amritsar !
We are prepared to leave for Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh). Surrounded by cedar forests at the edge of the Himalayas, Dharamshala is home to Dalai Lama, the chief representative of Tibetan Buddhism. This hillside city and its surroundings are reminiscent of Tibetan Buddhism and, therefore, we come into contact with this community like nowhere else outside Tibet. We see magnificent rice-fields and women dressed in a hundred colors working therein.
We stay at Mcleod Ganj, popularly known as the “Little Lhasa” because it has been the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
Overnight stay in hotel.

McLeod Ganj it being the crossroad(s) allows us to make pleasant walks.
From the village, a short walk takes us to the Temple of the Dalai Lama (the chief of the Tibetan Buddhism), his official residence. We may learn a few things about prayer and meditation here. Tibetan monks and nuns are always kind and cooperative towards any inquiries about their religion and philosophy*.

We may visit Bhagsunag a famous waterfall in here. Overnight stay in hotel.

*Recommendation: Attend the dialectic exercises that take place in the afternoons in the Dalai Lama Temple. The young monks engage in discussions about the topics of study with a peculiar form of debate.

Good Morning, Dharamshala !
We have got the blessings from the Lord Buddha.  And now we descend towards the plains, Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab & Haryana and a Union Territory of India too.
Chandigarh is an example of the modernizing desires of Independent India. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru commissioned Le Corbusier to design a city that would demonstrate the will & desires of the young Republic to bet on development and rationality. Chandigarh is a superfine experiment with its rationalist urbanism, its landscaped areas and its concrete architecture, and the locals claim that it is a great place to live in. It's worth a visit to the Rock Garden and the Rose Garden.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Good Morning, Chandigarh !

We start for the Ganges at Rishikesh & Haridwar. Rishikesh has been an established center for Yoga & Meditation. The banks of the Ganges at Haridwar & Rishikesh display the traditions, rites and somewhat ancient Hinduism.

We dedicate the day to know Rishikesh, known as the City of the Divine.
This is a center for yoga and meditation and temples and ashrams are meant for the purpose. The Beatles stayed here for a yoga training in February 1968 and made it famous for foreigners, but Rishikesh has been a pilgrimage and spiritual retirement for centuries. You will see dozens of ashrams where you can practice the meditation and the different branches of yoga. An experience of being in the lap of Mother Nature.
The nuclei of Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula are articulated around two large suspension bridges over the Ganges.

We come to Har Ki Pauri at Haridwar to watch the Aarti in the evening. This magnificent fire-worship remains devoted to the Lord Shiva, Mother Ganges / Ganga and the powers of the Universe.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Har Har Gange !  (Good Morning at the Ganges)
We thank the Mother Nature in Rishikesh and reach the railway station to get the train for Agra.

Agra obviously meant for the Taj Mahal, the magnificent and uinique mausoleum was built by Mughal emperor Shan Jahan in the sweet memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.  It took more than 20 years to complete this beautiful and vast structure.  It has been declared the UNESCO World Heritage Sight.  Taj Mahal remains included in the seven (7) wonders of the world, too.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Good Morning, Agra and the Taj too !

We dedicate the day to feel the existence of the Taj Mahal and Agra.

We may see the historical Agra Fort, visit the market / bazaar famous for its handicrafts especially carved in stones, now we see the Jama Masjid (the Great Mosque).

Agra to Delhi :
We may start for Delhi late afternoon.
We have a few hours before we need to be at the airport.  So, we may visit Hauz Khas village that has been a center for artists, designers and bohemians.  It offers gastronomic and traditional meals too.

Finally transit to the airport - already arranged. We bid a sweet goodbye to you at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi – you embrace the finest experience & memories of India and leave for your home.

End of our services.
