ARRIVAL AT DELHI

BEFORE WE START WE WISH TO EMPHASIZE THAT THE DETAILS OF SITES OR PLACES IN OUR TOURS DO NOT REMAIN RESTRICTED OR CONCLUSIVE. ON THE CONTRARY WE MEET MUCH MORE IN OUR WAY TO OUR DESTINATIONS.

We welcome you at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and escort you to the selected hotel for an overnight stay.

DELHI

Good Morning, Delhi !
In the morning we visit India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s official home) and Gandhi Museum in the first go. In the afternoon we enter the alleys of Old Delhi to observe the timeless social environment reminiscent of the seventeenth century city. We may visit historical Jama Masjid and Red Fort (Lal Quila).

Delhi to Amritsar (By Train)
In the evening, we reach the railway station and get the train for Amritsar (Punjab).
Overnight stay in hotel.

AMRITSAR

Amritsar is the home to the historical Golden Temple (one of the five highest seats of the Sikhs), Durgiana Temple (similar architecture to that of the Golden Temple), and Ram Bagh Gardens (Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s residence for summer), Jallianwala Bagh (a historical spot of one of the most infamous massacres in the India’s War of Freedom) and the Wagha Border between India & Pakistan – famous for its daily ceremony. And obviously, all these sites will be visited during the course of the day.
Overnight stay at hotel.

AMRITSAR TO DHARAMSHALA

Good Morning, Amritsar !
We are prepared to leave for Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh). Surrounded by cedar forests at the edge of the Himalayas, Dharamshala is home to Dalai Lama, the chief representative of Tibetan Buddhism. This hillside city and its surroundings are reminiscent of Tibetan Buddhism and, therefore, we come into contact with this community like nowhere else outside Tibet. We see magnificent rice-fields and women dressed in a hundred colors working therein.
We stay at Mcleod Ganj, popularly known as the “Little Lhasa” because it has been the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
Overnight stay in hotel.

DHARAMSHALA

McLeod Ganj it being the crossroad(s) allows us to make pleasant walks.
From the village, a short walk takes us to the Temple of the Dalai Lama (the chief of the Tibetan Buddhism), his official residence. We may learn a few things about prayer and meditation here. Tibetan monks and nuns are always kind and cooperative towards any inquiries about their religion and philosophy*.

We may visit Bhagsunag a famous waterfall in here. Overnight stay in hotel.

*Recommendation: Attend the dialectic exercises that take place in the afternoons in the Dalai Lama Temple. The young monks engage in discussions about the topics of study with a peculiar form of debate.

DHARAMSHALA TO MANALI

Good Morning, Dharamshala !
We start driving for Manali. The route is full of fascinating landscapes. At the stops in the route, we can appreciate the beauty of the Himalayan valleys that separate Dharamshala and Manali. Manali is one of the most famous places in the Indian Himalayas. We can enjoy its natural spots, sports and temples. Old Manali will allow us to take a relaxed walk and get back into the world of bazaars and traditional merchandise, while enjoying the wide range of cuisine and leisure. We can approach Dhungri to visit the Temple of Hadimba, a local deity, which is more than 400 years old.
Overnight stay at hotel.

MANALI TO SARCHU

Good Morning !
And we start for Sarchu.
The peaks that dominate Manali will be closer as we approach Sarchu. We will pass through Keylong, the administrative center of the mountainous area. The trip to Ladakh involves crossing the highest mountain passes in the world, such as Bara-lacha la at 4,880 meters. A few kilometers away we can enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Suraj tal (Sun lake).
Overnight stay at hotel.

SARCHU TO LEH (LADAKH)

Good Morning, India and we are on our way to Leh !
The arrival in Ladakh reveals a new type of landscape. The rock dominates everything and all the vegetation crowds on the banks of the rivers that have crystalline tonalities. The main valley is formed by the Indus River that rises in these mountains to continue its way to Pakistan. The color of its waters is confusing and complex. Once entered into Ladakh, the traveler becomes aware of the cultural change. The architecture, the food, the costumes are different. Leh is a small city at the foot of its fortress, dominated by the Stupa de la Paz and the snowy peaks most of the year.
Overnight stay at hotel

LEH

We  spend the day knowing the surroundings of Leh. The monasteries of Hemis and Thiksey where we come to know the way of life of these communities of monks i.e., Tibetan Buddhism; dedicated to the study of human existence through individuals' conscience.
In the last monastery we can also join the morning prayer-session of the monks and share with them the prayer of the mantras. It is a moment of great solemnity. The Buddhist monasteries of Ladakh hide great gems of Buddhist art and their situation, perched on the hills, is a spectacle in itself. We  return to Leh where we will have the afternoon free to walk.
Overnight stay at hotel.

LEH > LAMAYURU < LEH

Good Morning, Leh ! And now we are ready to visit a unique monastery, the Lamayuru. So we start to drive a peculiar journey.
Lamayuru is a historical monastery with very rich collection of artefacts, wall-paintings, statues and vibrant images. The living traditions have been preserved in here since the 10th century. Mysterious feelings and experience are awaited & delivered everywhere around in here.
On the way back, we will stop at Alchi, another important religious center. This monastery was built in the 11th century and its mural paintings are unparalleled in the valley. Obviously Tibetan Buddhism has been attracting people because of its unique mysticism.
Having arrived in Leh, we may get some time to climb to the Royal Palace, the 16th century nine-storey palace.
Overnight stay at hotel.

LEH TO DELHI (FLIGHT)

Good Morning, Leh !
We relax and walk around a little.
After breakfast, we reach the airport to fly to Delhi.
The National Capital welcomes us again. We may be able to spend the evening visiting one of the most interesting historical spot turned modern in the city: the Hauz Khas Village. For some years, this isolated core has concentrated the activities of artists, designers and bohemians; and its gastronomic and cultural offer is unique. In addition, the streets surround a beautiful park with ruins of the Tuglukh dynasty.
Overnight stay at hotel.

DELHI

Good Morning, Delhi, again !
We may spend the morning visiting the south of the city. The incredible Lotus Temple of the Baha’i Faith is an excellent choice. We may see the Qutub / Qutab Minar, the oldest minaret built in India. We may visit the archaeological park of Mehrauli, with its remains of Muslim dynasties. We may also go shopping in the markets of Khan Market near Lodi Garden or Connaught Place.

Late evening you may rest a little to get the flight back home.

DELHI

Transit to the airport is already arranged.
We bid a sweet goodbye at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi – you embrace the finest experience & memories and leave for your home.
