We receive you at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi and escort you to the selected hotel.

DELHI

Good Morning, Delhi !
In the morning we visit India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s official home) and Gandhi Museum in the first go. In the afternoon we enter the alleys of Old Delhi to observe the timeless social environment reminiscent of the seventeenth century city. We may visit historical Jama Masjid and Red Fort (Lal Quila). Late evening we may have a few drinks at the Hauz Khas village - one of the enclaves of designers, artists and bohemians of India.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

DELHI TO SHEKHAWATI / MANDAWA (RAJASTHAN)

In the morning, we start for the semi-desert area of Shekhawati. We dedicate the full day to make a circuit through the region, famous for its historical havelis (old grand mansions) and its forts - only to leave tourists mesmerized. Shekhawati was a point crucial to the caravan trade that was why merchants built palaces and havelis profusely decorated. Mandatory stop is the Temple of Rani Sati in Jhunjhunu, the largest dedicated to the ritual suicide of the wife on the funeral pyre of the husband. We may continue with the beautiful havelis of Nawalgarh and / or Mandawa.
Overnight stay at hotel

MANDAWA TO PUSHKAR

The road that separates Udaipur from Pushkar brings us back to the culture of the desert, as Pushkar is still an important cameleer center.
The holy city of Pushkar is home to one of the few temples dedicated to the creator god Brahma. Performing a pooja or offering in its waters brings visitors good luck. We can continue strolling through its alleys where sadhus and pilgrims abound, as well as enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of Sadar Bazaar. At the end of the day, a sunset behind the ghats offers us an unforgettable view of the lake.
Overnight stay at hotel.

PUSHKAR TO JAIPUR

For those who have been left wanting to roam, we have free time in the morning, before leaving for the state capital: Jaipur.
Arrival in Jaipur at lunchtime. We can dedicate the afternoon to stroll through the bazaars and get in touch with the vibrant capital of Rajasthan. We may visit a genuine cinema theater, the Raj Mandir that has been considered the theater with the largest room-capacity in India.  In addition you may find from traditional dinners, to approach the music and dances of this region, to luxurious cocktail bars.
Overnight stay at hotel.

JAIPUR

Good Morning, Jaipur !
Day for sightseeing the Pink City, capital of Rajasthan. Sightseeing Jaipur remains fascinating with the people around and their lifestyle. Hard working men and women in their historical-cum-traditional dresses, lurching carts drawn by camels and their pleasant lovely nature to interact with outsiders / foreigners remain unparalleled. You love to walk on foot, ride in rickshaws, cars, vans or buses to City Palace Museum, Jaipur Observatory – Jantar Mantar (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Palace of Winds – Hawa Mahal and visit Amer Fort on elephant-back.
Overnight stay at hotel.

.

JAIPUR TO FATEHPUR SIKRI AND AGRA

Departure from Jaipur towards Agra. Halfway, stop at the Abandoned City of Fatehpur Sikri, the palaces complex that Emperor Akbar had built as a new capital for the Mughal Empire. Bur he abandoned the city because of the tasks in the Punjab and as a few historians claim, due to scarcity of water supply.
In the afternoon we can visit the Taj Mahal, the culminated article in Mughal architecture, built between 1631 and 1658 by Emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Recommendation: Watch the sunset from the gardens of the Taj Mahal and with a bit of luck we can see how the white marble of the Taj changes its shade / color with the sunset and arrival of darkness.
Overnight stay at hotel.

.

AGRA TO GWALIOR AND ORCHHA

Good Morning, Agra !
We are prepared to visit the Fort of Agra, reputed for its impressive marble pavilions and red walls. This remains a fine occasion to marvel at the Taj Mahal that rises in the distance on the banks of the Yamuna.

Then, we leave for Gwalior, and at the Fort of Gwalior we stop to take our meal.

We continue towards Orchha. This town was the capital of the Bundela dynasty in the 16th century and the heritage that has been concentrated on the banks of the river Betwa surprises us all. Raja Mahal (Palace), Cenotaphs (Chhatris)*, tombs and temples are definitely worth watching. It remains pleasant to watch the nearby villagers work and continue with their daily tasks.

*It is worth to watch the sunset in front of the chattris on the banks of the Betwa River.

Overnight stay at hotel.

ORCHHA TO KHAJURAHO

Orchha tourist attractions are fort, palace, cenotaphs (chhatris), wildlife sanctuary, river bank, river rafting, temples etc. Raj Mandir was built by 'Madhukar Shah' during his sovereignty, 1554 to 1591. We will get up to visit the Fortaleza Palace which is located on an island in the Betwa River. In spite of the degradation, the Jahangir Mahal and the Raj Mandir show the great architecture of the Bundela dynasty.

After the visit to Orchha we start for Khajuraho, UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temples were built by Chandela dynasty in 950 AD to 1050 AD – within a period of 100 years or more.
Overnight stay at  hotel.

KHAJURAHO

The walls of these temples display sculptures of meditation & spiritual teachings. The sculptures of the temples portraying Kama Sutra / Kamasutra (ancient Sanskrit treatise on the art of sex / love-making) are completely & mysteriously unique in the world and most popular attraction among the national and international tourists. World Heritage Site, these millenary temples rise and stand up in peculiar confidence and cool.  However, Khajuraho is much more and shows the Hindu architecture that disappeared from the North of India after centuries of Muslim rule.

Khajuraho to Varanasi (Flight)
In the afternoon we get the flight to the historical city of Varanasi, center spiritual par excellence of northern India and where we can witness and participate in the rituals of goddess Ganga*, from whom the sacred river takes its name.
* The aarti on the banks of the Ganges is an essential ritual and in Varanasi it is represented with great devotion and pomp. Dashashwamedh Ghat is the best place to witness it, although many ghats in the city have their own ceremony-patterns.

Overnight stay at hotel.

VARANASI

We get up early to enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges at sunrise.
Pilgrims and local people, approach the river to perform their ablutions.
In several places, the ghat(s) of ancient Hindu cremations bustle with activities and remain typically graphic. Domes (community known as the keepers of the burning ghats) work 24 x 7 and the sight of burning the dead bodies (last rites of Hindus) at the ghat(s) may seem somewhat bizarre & eerie but remains unique in the world.

The alleys of the old city are full of temples and altars. We may visit Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first sermon. The place just 14 kilometers from Varanasi is a center Buddhist pilgrimage.

Varanasi to Delhi  (Train)

In the afternoon, we take the train to immerse ourselves in another essential experience of the trip to India: Indian Railways.

DELHI

We reach Delhi in the morning. We have some free time before heading to the airport. If we wish we may spend the afternoon visiting one of the emblematic monuments of the south of the city as the Qutub Minar, the oldest minaret built in India or visit the archaeological park d e Mehrauli, with its remains of Muslim dynasties.

Finally transit to the Indira Gandhi International Airport – already arranged.

DELHI

We bid a sweet goodbye at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi – you embrace the finest experience & memories and leave for your home.
